I spent 6 months working closely with this New York City startup as the brand and content manager. We were in early stage funding rounds, and the business was growing at a great pace. I wore many hats in my role and worked on many multi-team crossover projects. From designing our marketing materials and writing copy to analyzing our marketing systems and presenting to stakeholders, I embraced the fast pace of startup workflow!
To help build our team, culture and onboarding process, I spearheaded and built out our intranet, accessible only with an official company email. I included an archive of our meeting minutes and staff presentations. I wrote and refined our policies and procedures, as well as documented the complete step-by-step welcoming process for new employees, with a walk-through page for our company tools (Slack, Asana, Salesforce, Sprout Social, etc.).
I illustrated, designed and managed a wide variety of sales and customer happiness tools including webinar landing pages and email blasts, pitch decks and sales slide decks, infographics, and spearheaded a social dashboard feed to help our team better share and re-post our brand standard social content. For the development team, I helped edit and structure our documentation in plain English, allowing it to be re-purposed for sales and stakeholder materials. I worked extensively on sales collateral for prospecting, pitch, negotiation and closing, including contracts, process infographics, and benefits illustration.
As the brand and content manager for this startup, I built the standards for the voice of the brand across all channels. I wrote all tag lines, catchphrases and copy for the site from hero statements to error messages. I helped develop the WordPress blog structure, calendar and content. I used Sprout Social to handle and manage our social media presence to brand standards. I was in charge of developing the voice and messaging guidelines in our style guide from tone to punctuation. I restructured, cleaned and validated our email list, and built proper segments and list groups linked to sales, marketing, and customer success channels through automation.
