PAX project description:

Cat Mann Is PAX: Legend of the Keyholders  is a serial novel delivered in weekly installments with bonus content. The project was orignally delivered exclusively on Patreon, but will continue on AMV's website with more flexible options for access. Each episode is 6-15 pages in length, and features original illustrations (by artist Taryn Cozzy). The first 24 episodes also feature recommended indie music embedded as "Easter eggs".
About the story: It's a modern sci-fi fantasy where the protagonist is gifted with a mysterious language which could unravel the future.
Note: We changed the title from simply PAX to Cat Mann Is PAX for disambiguation purposes and to emphasize that it is a female/non-binary lead character.
A note from the author (that's me):
This project launched as a series in November of 2017, and has been something of a pet project. After two long breaks and an ill-fated 2020 reboot, the trilogy is slated to launch in ebook and paperback standard formats!

Serial release (our beta launch) was more like show running than traditional publishing:
I'm incredibly grateful for my team on this. It was a big continuity and consistency challenge, and a lot of fun. At every turn, I collaborated with an illustrator, editor, social media manager and readers to release episodes.
I keep my workflow meticulously organized in Airtable, using a relational database to track episode details, the language glyph directory (yes, I created a whole new language for the series!), links, release calendar, to-do lists, deadlines, and editor communication, etc.
The beta readership has been extremely supportive, and we learned a lot from early release mistakes. Feedback has been key in the planning of the launch. While the pauses have been frustrating, product iteration has taught us a lot. Going forward, we'll be using a mix of traditional publishing and app-style access to content for a "best of both worlds" scenario.
Stay tuned.

Samples of the Launch 1.1 weekly emails:
The weekly emails were automated via Mailchimp, and linked to Patreon reader subscriptions tiers via Zapier.

Samples of the Episode PDFs:
In addition to the email blast links to recommended reading, each chapter contained a link to the track Bandcamp or SoundCloud page, as an "Easter egg" for readers.

The official landing page website:
Of course, I couldn't have just the Patreon page!

Cat Mann Is PAX was outfitted with a complete WordPress landing page with FAQ, subscription links, and both Twitter (now disabled) and Facebook social accounts (promoted circa 2018). I used the Hestia theme to create this single column scrolling sales page, which will also be the future home of the PAX shop. I considered a blog, but the Patreon page (for obvious reasons) will be the home of most ongoing updates, as a courtesy to paying readers.
Update 2023: This page has been updated to reflect the updated IP brand, and will continue to act as a landing page for the series going forward. Book sales, merch, and more will happen over at byamv.com.
Samples of bonus content for Patreon subscribers:
Patreon has been a fun platform to work with. It allows for continuous "subscription-based" pledges over time, to support the release of new material by a creator - in this case, episodes and bonus materials.
Below are some examples of character legends and fun facts pre-released as bonus content to Adventurer and above patron tiers, then made public after a set number of days.
Below that, I've included the graphics I created for each tier (just to spice up the Patreon layout).
Update 2023: To fully customize subscriptions and access to bonus content, all CMIP books, episodes, bonus materials, and merch will be made available exclusively on Alex's website byamv.com. For simplicity, the Patreon page will come down Jan 1, 2023.
